The Institute for Space-Earth Environmental Research (ISEE) is dedicated to understanding the mechanisms and interactions of diverse phenomena in the Earth, Sun, and space as a single integrated system. ISEE aims to contribute to the resolution of global environmental issues and the development of human society expanding into space. As the only collaborative research center that bridges space and Earth sciences, ISEE promotes a wide range of collaborative research and contributes to the improvement of the standards in related fields. ISEE also encourages the development of new academic fields beyond the conventional ones. Furthermore, as an affiliated research institute of Nagoya University, ISEE strives to strengthen and internationalize the research capabilities and functions of Nagoya University, focusing on academic research, talent development, and social contributions.
In line with these objectives, ISEE established the Office for the Development of Interdisciplinary Research Strategy (ODIRS) in August 2022 to facilitate interdisciplinary research within the Tokai National Higher Education and Research System. Within this context, ODIRS is now seeking proposals for "Interdisciplinary Research Strategy Projects", which involve collaborative efforts between faculty, staff, and researchers from Tokai National Higher Education and Research System and ISEE. Their objective will be to explore and promote new interdisciplinary research connecting space science, Earth science, and other fields. This call for proposals includes not only specific research activities but also the establishment of foundations and the organization of workshops to promote interdisciplinary research. The principal investigators must be affiliated with the Tokai National Higher Education and Research System, and the proposed interdisciplinary research strategy projects are expected to be conducted within a research framework involving ISEE researchers.
